Noticing my throat chakra

This past month has been all about noticing my throat chakra—not just in a big, spiritual way, but in how it shows up in daily life.

The throat is where we communicate, but it’s also where we hold back—the unspoken thoughts, the hesitation, the tension that builds when we’re not fully expressing ourselves.

It is also the bridge between the upper and lower chakras, linking the body's energetic pathways and activators.

When the throat chakra is open, flowing, and unrestricted, it serves as a clear channel, allowing transmissions of light, insights, and downloads from the brow, the crown, and the higher chakras, the 10th, 11th, and 12th to integrate seamlessly into the body’s energy grid.

Hey there, I’m Vicki Wallace. I love exploring energy, movement, and the way we connect with ourselves and the world around us. My work is all about helping you find balance—whether that’s through body awareness, shifting energy, or simply learning to listen to what you need.

Noticing the Shifts

Lately, things have felt… different. Maybe you’ve noticed it too—a shift in how you’re feeling, how you’re expressing yourself, or even how you’re connecting with the people around you. It’s easy to slip into old habits when life gets busy, but sometimes, there’s a moment of clarity where something clicks.

Breath, Movement & Awareness

I’ve been spending more time outdoors, walking the bush track near my house—a place I’ve been activating and working with for years. Along the way, there are certain spots that hold a deeper connection—places where the energy feels different, like stepping into a sacred space.

There’s a masculine tōtara tree whose presence feels strong and sure, a wise grandmotherly fern (Elouise) that reflects my current truth, a branch where faeries gather, a clearing where I rebalance my energetic grids, and a stretch of the path that aligns with the planets overhead. These places have become portals of energy and insight—quiet reminders that everything is connected.

Take a moment right now. Where do you feel tension? Your throat? Shoulders? Jaw? It’s easy to carry stress in these places without even realizing it. Sometimes, all it takes is a breath, a stretch, or even just noticing to help that energy shift and move more freely.

Clearing the Path

The throat isn’t just about speaking up; it’s about how energy moves through your whole system. When open, thoughts feel clearer, communication flows easier, and there’s less second-guessing. When our throat chakra is blocked, things feel stuck—physically, mentally, emotionally.

A blockage can show up in many ways—tension in the muscles, spine, sacral and cervical vertebrae—because everything is connected. When one area is tight, another might be compensating. Releasing that tension helps energy circulate, creating more balance and ease in the body.

A Simple Practice to Try

Hold your hands in front of your throat chakra, mirroring each other. Feel the energy between them.

Now, slowly move one hand closer so it directly faces your throat. Notice the shift. How does the distance change the feeling? Pay attention to the frequency, the flow, and even the direction of movement.

This is about learning to tune into subtle yet powerful energy shifts. Try gently moving your hand forward and backward until you find the spot that feels right—where there’s a natural connection. In this moment, you’re directly communicating with the energy vortex of your throat chakra.

You might even feel drawn to place your other hand near a different chakra—your heart, solar plexus, or another area that needs alignment. Our chakras are always in conversation with each other, naturally adjusting, balancing, and recalibrating energy throughout the body.

For me, this connection shifts day by day. Today, my throat chakra needed support from my sacral chakra—drawing on my sense of self, personal values, and the ability to embrace joy in the moment. Instead of holding on, I allowed that energy to flow through, especially in relation to emotions surrounding Sacha’s passing.

Just observe. Explore. Notice the shifts. You’re not forcing anything—just allowing. That’s where real balance happens.

Activating Your Life Light & Finding Balance

Our body’s energy isn’t just about individual chakras—it’s part of a whole system working together. One key energy we can tap into is the life light, often referred to as the central column of light or creator energy. This energy runs just forward of the spinal column, weaving through our anatomical and energetic systems, playing a role in healing, balance, and overall well-being.

When we work with this energy, we can help relieve tension in the body’s structural bands, creating a harmonious connection between the mental, emotional, and physical layers of ourselves. Activating this energy can also support the throat, allowing for clearer communication, deeper breath, and better energetic flow throughout the whole system.

If this resonates with you, I invite you to explore more in this episode:

In this video, we explore techniques to activate and spread this healing light, bringing more awareness to how energy moves within us—helping us feel more aligned, balanced, and open in our daily lives.

Tuning into Sensations

Energy shows up in different ways—maybe a subtle sound, a tingling, or a gut feeling. It’s unique to everyone. The more we pay attention, the more we start to recognize those little signals.

This isn’t about chasing big experiences—it’s about being present with what’s already there.

Supporting Your Throat Physically

Sometimes, a blocked throat chakra isn’t just about energy—it can show up physically too. If you’re experiencing a sore throat, one simple remedy I turn to is gargling with Hypercal tincture (a blend of Hypericum for its antiseptic properties and Calendula for healing).

I use Weleda’s Hypercal Lotion, adding 10–20 drops to about 1/4 of a small glass of warm water. Take small sips, gargle, and continue until you’ve used up the mixture. If you catch it early, repeat this several times a day; otherwise, a morning and night routine can help ease discomfort.

Caring for the throat physically, while also working with its energy flow, creates a more holistic balance—supporting both the body and the way we express ourselves.

Bringing It All Together

Everything in the body is connected. Working with one area—like the throat chakra—creates ripple effects through the whole system. Your breath, posture, voice, and confidence are all linked. Small shifts can lead to big changes in how you feel day to day.

So, if this resonates with you, I’d love to hear what you’re noticing. What came up for you? How does your throat feel right now? Drop a comment below and let’s start the conversation.
